Tbilisi

Georgia's capital is so distinctive that describing it is difficult—this city reveals itself only during leisurely strolls through narrow streets and hearty conversations over a hearty lunch of kebab, mtsvadi shashlik, and delicious wine. Flourishing, bustling, and friendly, Tbilisi blends a multitude of styles and cultures, a fascinating cocktail unmatched anywhere else: from ancient to modern, from historic mansions to European Art Nouveau and Soviet modernism.

We invite you to join a private tour of Tbilisi. An experienced guide will take you to the city's most iconic sites: you'll see the legendary carved balconies over the Kura River, stroll across the Dry Bridge with its authentic flea market, and visit the Narikala Fortress, whose buildings were erected in different historical periods yet still look harmonious. Beneath the fortress lies the picturesque Fig Gorge, pleasantly cool during the day and beautifully illuminated at night, creating a romantic atmosphere. You'll visit the Pushkin Garden, admire jewelry dating back over 5,000 years at the Georgian Museum, and learn the incredible love story behind the Prince of Oldenburg Palace.

Kazbegi: man-made wonders against the backdrop of peaks

The high-mountain village of Kazbegi and its surroundings are the quintessence of Georgia's incredible natural beauty. The former name of this settlement was Stepantsminda, and it lies at the foot of Mount Kazbek, celebrated in the poems of Pushkin and Lermontov and depicted in the paintings of Vereshchagin and Kuindzhi. But it's not only this peak that attracts tourists to Kazbegi: the surrounding area offers numerous beautiful locations!

We'll stop at the confluence of the White and Black Aragvi rivers to capture a stunning panoramic view and delve into Georgian mythology, hearing the legend of the curse of the goddess Daredjan. We also invite you to visit the medieval Ananuri fortress, which played a vital role in numerous wars of past centuries and is now abandoned, yet still beautiful. Another unique location is the majestic Darial Gorge, which inspired great Russian poets. We'll stop for lunch in the village of Pasanauri, considered the birthplace of khinkali. Finally, during your stay in Kazbegi, a must-see is the Gergeti Trinity Monastery, located at the foot of Mount Kazbek, at an altitude of almost 2,200 meters above sea level.

We'll also visit mineral springs with healing water.

Ushguli's main attraction is the ancient medieval church of Lamaria, a fascinating blend of pre-Christian Svan beliefs and Orthodox tradition. Small but wonderfully atmospheric, this church boasts ancient frescoes—some believed to date back to the 10th and 11th centuries. After a traditional Ushguli lunch, we'll head to Mount Shkhara and the picturesque pass where the Inguri River originates. Here, you can take a short trek to the high-mountain lake Nuam Kuam: its calm waters reflect the snow- and green-covered slopes, inspiring a sense of peace and tranquility. Samtskhe-Javakheti: Vardzia and Akhaltsikhe

Vardzia is a cave city, an unusual fortress where the Georgian ruler Tamar lived. It is a unique site that blends nature, inventive architecture, and rich Georgian history. Although much of the complex has been destroyed by the elements and centuries of enemy raids, it remains awe-inspiring, with nearly a hundred rooms open to the public: churches and wine cellars, libraries and living quarters

Although Vardzia was only actively used for a hundred years, it is incredibly important to the country's history, having witnessed its Golden Age. The fortress was considered impregnable and was, in fact, a full-fledged city with streets, baths, and a freshwater lake. It could shelter up to 20,000 people at a time, and Vardzia is eight stories high! After visiting this amazing complex, we'll have lunch with a Meskhetian family and then head to the Akhaltsikhe Fortress. This site was a commercial, cultural, and political center in the 8th-10th centuries, and is a powerful citadel in the Arabic style. Recently, the fortress was carefully restored and is now one of the most popular attractions in the region.
